The Marvelous Month of May

This month has been everything wonderful and crazy to me that can be imagined.  I have survived two advanced college prep classes.  I somehow managed to see more movies in one month than I have in a really long time.  I have seen many of my old friends over the past few months, and have also made many new friends.  On the farm I have been learning how to treat and care for sick/injured sheep, and an injured cow.  I have seen many of my friends graduate and move on to a wonderful future. The preparation and anticipation for the summer 4-H season has hit me with it's full force this week. This year I am really excited because I will actually be in Muncie for the fair this year! I wasn't able to make it to the fair last year because I was on an amazing trip in Kazakhstan for three weeks. Now that I will be here, I have signed up to take a total of 6 projects.  This year I have: Two Horses, three Sheep, a Goat, a Decorated Cake, a Photography p...

Observations of the Park

Round and Round on the Merry-go-round On the merry-go-round there’s a wide variety of fun lovers. There are the spinners and the riders The fast and the slow goers The big kids who can run and spin it fast Then the little ones who only ride when it’s slow The biggest kids are often the parents Who are begged to run and push and play Because they can spin it the very fastest They make it fun for everyone. ~Jess~ Westside Park May 12, 2012

My Trust is in The Lord

I catch myself often thinking too much about boys, my friends, and my life. In my heart, I know that I want to be a woman of God who lives only for Him. I want to feel and be able to know that He loves me too. I don’t want to be a girl who chases after boys looking for love, and only trying to attract attention to myself. The world keeps telling me all the lies I can handle… but I don’t want to be consumed with that kind of life. God, Please be with me always, help me to keep my thoughts on you and the lies of this world far from my mind. If it is your will that I face those challenges, bring them on. I know that with you all things are possible. Nothing is too much for me to handle when I have you with me. In your timing I will trust. No matter how hard it may be, or how far my thoughts may stray. I pray that you have an amazing and wonderful guy just for me – somewhere and sometime we will meet. Only in your timing…I trust you to know what you are doing. Thank y...

Oh the Joy of March

Well I guess this blog is turning into a monthly edition. It's mostly because I don't have hardly any extra time to write or there really isn't that much to write about I suppose. This month however has been so amazing and jam packed that I am just now getting to write about it. For starters I just want to state the obvious.... The weather has been amazing here, but it is really starting to weird me out. I mean, 65 degree days in early and mid March? I love it, but it's just a little odd. Because of the nice weather I have started work on my 4-H projects for this year way earlier that I did last year. So far I am doing seven projects. Three of them involve showing livestock and the others are projects that will be on display this July at the Delaware County fair. This month I have been working with the animals I will be taking to the fair this year. I am going to attempt to show a goat this year too, so I have been trying to work with her some. This year will be my ...

Never Doubt I love

“ Doubt thou the stars are fire ,  Doubt that the sun doth move ,  Doubt truth to be a liar , But never doubt I love ." Shakespeare, Hamlet One thing I don’t understand is how people can take a word that means so much, and morph it into something that has no meaning at all. Since it is February and getting close to Valentine’s Day, I thought this would be a good opportunity to talk about love. I want to tell you about what love really means, at least to me. When I think of "love" in the way people do around February 14 th , all that comes to mind is a lot of people confusing their emotions with what is true. Today, love can have so many meanings, and they all seem to get really mixed up. We say, “I love you,” to almost anyone for almost any reason. It has become something that you automatically blurt out every time you say good-bye. You may say it every once in a while to your family members, but when you say it to them, most of the time it’s also when you a...

Here One Minute and Gone the Next

With the new year and everything that comes with it, I have been thinking way to much about what could have been. Every year it seems to be the same thing. One minute life is slow and I can enjoy some peace and quiet, the next life is in hyper-drive and I can barely keep up. For most of last year, my life was in hyper-drive and it looks like it will end up like that again this year. If things do get to be to fast, my resolution for this year is to not let all of the things I do become just a routine. Life is to short to not enjoy what you do. Whether life is in hyper-drive or slow and steady, take the time to enjoy it. I am definitely going to try my hardest to do that this year. Hopefully I won't have as many things that I wish I could have changed or things I did and didn't enjoy because I was just too busy. This is one of my favorite songs and now it makes more sense than ever. Don't Blink - Kenny Chesney Let's start the year on a good note, shall we. :)  ...

We All Want Love, We All Want Honor

Undone FFH from the album Wide Open Spaces   youtube.com Come undone, surrender is stronger I don't need to be the hero tonight We all want love we all want honor Nobody wants to pay the asking price Fall on my knees, fall on my pride I'm tripping over all the times I've lied I'm asking please, but I can see in your eyes You don't need tears for alibis It's true what they say Love must be blind It's why You're still standing by this sinner's side You're still by my side when all the things I've done have left you bleeding Come undone, surrender is stronger I don't need to be the hero tonight We all want love we all want honor Nobody wants to pay the asking price
