Hello World

Well hello again. Goodness it has been a very very long time since I have updated this, or even looked at this page for that matter! Life for me has been very full, not necessarily busy for once, but I guess full is the closest thing I can come up with to describe it. Full of joy, work, learning, and rest when needed too. As you may know from your own experiences, a lot can happen in 10 (almost 11) months! So I'll sum up most of what I've been up to lately like this... Learning new things and more of what I don't know every day Still learning what being a girlfriend means :) I have picked up a few things, but I'm positive I still have a lot more to learn! Again, I'm learning more every day! 4-H from June-August Getting accepted to Ivy Tech and taking four classes there this semester Thinking a lot about what the future may hold Family School Job Where I'll go or be eventually Making a lot of lists Not reading so much lately Or writing here or el...

Life's a Dance

John Michael Montgomery "Life's a dance you learn as you go Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow Don't worry about what you don't know Life's a dance you learn as you go." Well, this month has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for me. Sort of like as soon as you get off of a really amazing ride when you can’t really walk straight and all you can say is wow. I have learned so much it’s fantastic! I learned that Tennessee is a pretty cool place to go on vacation, and if you stay where we did they have a pretty cool water park. I’m learning how important communication is. I have been writing so many letters and talking to dear friends so much lately it’s great! Also how to balance my schedule so I can be sure to get my work done and have fun too. I’m slowly figuring out where I want to go to college and what to major in. I know what I want to do but how to get there is looking like it will take some more time to learn. I ...

Want or Need?

This month I have been thinking quite a lot about the difference between the words want and need. I have come to the conclusion that we actually need very little. One only really needs food, as a substance to keep the body alive. Shelter to stay out of the weather, and clothes to cover us and to keep warm. Anything other than those things I would place in the want category. Along with that would also be anything over the top when it comes to food, shelter, and clothes. Could there be some other exceptions to this though? The reason I bring all of this up is because my teenage-girl-over-thinking-brain has not let me forget this list of things that I think I want. The trouble is what things do I need and what do I simply want? My mind keeps telling me that “every girl wants this…” and “every one needs that” but do I really need those thing at all? Now the list that keeps pestering my brain goes something like this… I want to… Be asked to go to prom Be swept off my feat by ...

Never Forget to Stop and Smell the Roses

Last night I had a few rare moments to myself. I just laid out in our backyard on the trampoline and gazed up at the moon. It was so wonderful and perfect. The sun was setting into the beautiful red, orange, and purple horizon, while the moon was coming out over the trees. It smelled like it had just rained, and it was the perfect temperature to be outside, not to hot, and not to cold. This month has been full of sweet and simple moments like this. It has also been full of its share of insane and crazy moments too. It wouldn't be my life if it was not crazy and weird sometimes. I also would not be able to stand it if that was all my life consisted of! I have been so blessed in the last month to be able to participate in many 4-H projects. Also, to have my family having fun and doing all of these things with me. Then there are my AMAZING/FANTASTIC/AWESOME/SPECIAL/and many more... friends. :D This moth (whole summer actually) has been one of the best so far. Normally I only work ...

My Heart

I find myself often thinking too much about boys, my friends, and life. I know that I want to be a woman of God who lives for him forever, and I want to know that He loves me always. I don’t want to be a girl who chases after boys looking for love and attracting attention to myself. The world keeps telling me all the lies I can handle… I don’t want to be consumed with that kind of life. God,  Please be with me always, help me to keep my thoughts on you and the lies of this world far from my mind. If it is your will that I face challenges, bring them on. I know that with you all things are possible. Nothing is too much for me to handle when I have you with me.  In your timing I will trust. No matter how hard it may be, or how far my thoughts may stray. I pray that you have an amazing and wonderful guy just for me – somewhere and sometime we will meet. Only in your timing…I trust you to know what you are doing. After all, you are the one who made me to be me. ...

The Marvelous Month of May

This month has been everything wonderful and crazy to me that can be imagined.  I have survived two advanced college prep classes.  I somehow managed to see more movies in one month than I have in a really long time.  I have seen many of my old friends over the past few months, and have also made many new friends.  On the farm I have been learning how to treat and care for sick/injured sheep, and an injured cow.  I have seen many of my friends graduate and move on to a wonderful future. The preparation and anticipation for the summer 4-H season has hit me with it's full force this week. This year I am really excited because I will actually be in Muncie for the fair this year! I wasn't able to make it to the fair last year because I was on an amazing trip in Kazakhstan for three weeks. Now that I will be here, I have signed up to take a total of 6 projects.  This year I have: Two Horses, three Sheep, a Goat, a Decorated Cake, a Photography p...

Observations of the Park

Round and Round on the Merry-go-round On the merry-go-round there’s a wide variety of fun lovers. There are the spinners and the riders The fast and the slow goers The big kids who can run and spin it fast Then the little ones who only ride when it’s slow The biggest kids are often the parents Who are begged to run and push and play Because they can spin it the very fastest They make it fun for everyone. ~Jess~ Westside Park May 12, 2012
